Job!!

So, today I finally got to actually work! I've been double-jacking (listening to other people take phone calls) for two weeks. Here's the breakdown of how things are supposed to work:
1: 3 weeks on classroom training - (check!)
2: 1 week of on-the-job training with a partner - (nope- doublejacking instead)
3: 1 week of on-the-job training, solo - (nope - double jacking instead)
4: Production (aka real work) - (still double jacking for 1 week, 1 & a half days, then, finally, today, real work!)

The 2 weeks of on-the-job training are called Edge, and you are more closely monitored by the supervisors, so you can more easily get help when needed (plus the first week you have a partner, to share brain-power with). My class did not get that. Today we were thrown out into production with everybody else. *sigh* Granted, it wasn't until about 9:00, and my shift is from 3:30 to midnight, but still. Wow. I thought I knew a lot more than I actually do, but a lot of it you really have to learn from doing. I'm glad that tomorrow is my day off so my brain can recuperate a little bit.

Oh, and tomorrow, while my brain is recuperating, I will be cleaning house, and in the afternoon, looking at a duplex.
